Collard Manson

So this weekend it was mine and the boyfriends one year anniversary (oh how time flies!) and also one of my oldest and dearest friend Megans surprise leaving party as shes is going to America for the summer. Megans twin sister Polly was throwing the party in her university house up in Sheffield, so we decided to kill two birds with one stone and have a nice little day of shopping and lunch around Meadow Hall and Sheffield town then head on to the party in the evening. It turned out to be a lovely little weekend and I really am going to miss all the crazy nights out we've had in Sheffield. I'd also been saving for the trip so managed to treat myself to quite a few little beauties so I'm very happy with that. I stumbled across this absolutely gorgeous little jewellery, accessories and home accessories shop called Collard Manson. All the pieces are absolutely stunning and so unique. I instantly fell in love with everything in there and treated myself to a gorgeous ring, a cute little bug notebook, a vintage Vogue postcard and beautiful bird print wrapping paper. I am definitely going to frame the wrapping paper! It turns out they also have a shop in Nottingham which is a little closer to home so I'll most definitely be making a visit in the very near future!
Check them out if you haven't all ready.

Bug Making

So this post is a little late!
Basically at the start of last week when the weather was miserable me and Toby were having a bit of trouble finding things to do. We managed to find a little bug making kit free in one of his magazines so we decided to give it a shot. Not going to lie, they remained complete for about five minutes before Toby decided to pull them all apart again! But we both enjoy getting creative so it was quite fun while it lasted. Luckily this week the weather is absolutely beautiful so we've been playing in the garden quite a lot and even managed to squeeze in a few little outings. Hopefully the weather will last and we'll have something a little more fun to update you all with!

Summer dreaming

I am in love with absolutely everything about this photo! I've spent the last few days shopping for mine and Tobys summer wardrobes and I've completely lacked inspiration for me so I've mainly been focusing on his. In all honesty I don't think any little boy needs quite so many snazzy short sleeved shirts but I simply couldn't resist! But anyway, I basically saw this photo from carolinesmode.com and the colours just completely encouraged me to put together a little outfit.
I'm also a very big fan of the block colour trend at the minute so I'm finally inspired and my summer outfit planning has finally begun!
Heres to hoping the weather makes an vast improvement...

Saturday, 4 May 2013

So me and Toby moved in to our new house about a month ago now, and I'm not going to lie, I really did hate it at first! But I have to admit I've somehow managed to fall in love with the place now. Its so much nicer having more space and the garden is an absolute god sent considering all the lovely weather we've been having recently. My landlord is also absolutely lovely and has agreed to let me decorate so I'm very excited about this! Its going to be great being able to properly put my own little personal touch into everything. I've already made a start on the hall but once its all completely finished I'm sure I'll have some photos to share on here.
I haven't particularly been up to a great deal these last four weeks all thanks to the unpacking and my rather annoying habit of having to move the furniture in a room around at least 5 times until I'm completely satisfied it looks its best! So in all honesty I don't have a lot to update you all on. I did have a rather interesting trip to visit a psychic in Skegness with my Mother and Sister last weekend which turned out to be scarily accurate. I won't go into detail as some of it was quite personal but my futures looking rather positive so maybe next time I'll have something a little more interesting to say!

House move

Unfortunately me and Toby are having to say goodbye to our beautiful little flat. We found out mid February our Landlord is moving away from Leicester so is selling the property. That's the problem with renting, nothings guaranteed. This explains why I've been a little quiet on the blog front recently as I literally haven't stopped since we found out. Firstly I had to find somewhere else for us and it took weeks for something half decent to come up! But eventually it did, and we've managed to find ourselves a lovely little two bedroom house which realistically is going to be a lot better for us as Tobys nearly four now (I seriously cannot believe it) and we could do with the extra space! It also comes with a garage which means I have room to really try and do something with my little furniture renovation business plan. Plus its going to be lovely to have a little garden as that's the main thing I think we were really lacking where we are now.
I have been non stop packing since we found out and I'm still struggling to believe just how much stuff we actually own! I have no idea how we managed to fit it all into such a small place. Its been a great excuse to have a major clear out though and it been lovely finding little forgotten memories and looking through all of Tobys baby things again.
I'm feeling quite a mix of emotions about the whole move really. Its going to be so hard saying goodbye to our first ever home, we really did make it our own and I really did love it here. At the same time though everything happens for a reason and this move is going to be great for us! I am just so proud of how far we've both come. Its just over a year now since we first moved in and I was so terrified of doing it all on my own. It was exciting gaining my full independence but at the same time I gained full responsibility for another person. Even though he was two at the time it was still an extremely daunting experience actually doing it all alone with out having my mother there to support me and for me to turn to when I needed a little help. I don't think I let myself know often enough just how well I've done and as silly as this will sound to most of you, I really am proud of myself.
So hello exciting new adventure! Here's to hoping next time we do the whole house move malarkey it can be to somewhere we can truly call our own.  Best get saving that deposit!

London

Graffiti art inspiration from my most recent trip to London. Pretty phenomenal stuff! The detail on some pieces is just truly amazing!
It also happened to be Chinese New Year that weekend!
Happy year of the snake!
(Better late than never)

Monday, 4 February 2013

I've been really focusing on making the flat a little more homely recently as I have stated before. Its actually turning into a bit of an obsession now as I spend any spare money or spare time buying little bits or searching online for the perfect pieces! I received these frames and pictures for my birthday a few weeks ago and absolutely love them. I think I'm going to start a little picture wall in the living room as I hate the big white empty space of the far wall! Hopefully it will look good and not a massive overcrowded mess but we shall have to wait and see!

P.s I also apologise for the lack of decent quality posts on this blog recently. Its all inspiration and instagram photos! But I have been rather busy and promise a decent update very soon!
