House move

Unfortunately me and Toby are having to say goodbye to our beautiful little flat. We found out mid February our Landlord is moving away from Leicester so is selling the property. That's the problem with renting, nothings guaranteed. This explains why I've been a little quiet on the blog front recently as I literally haven't stopped since we found out. Firstly I had to find somewhere else for us and it took weeks for something half decent to come up! But eventually it did, and we've managed to find ourselves a lovely little two bedroom house which realistically is going to be a lot better for us as Tobys nearly four now (I seriously cannot believe it) and we could do with the extra space! It also comes with a garage which means I have room to really try and do something with my little furniture renovation business plan. Plus its going to be lovely to have a little garden as that's the main thing I think we were really lacking where we are now.
I have been non stop packing since we found out and I'm still struggling to believe just how much stuff we actually own! I have no idea how we managed to fit it all into such a small place. Its been a great excuse to have a major clear out though and it been lovely finding little forgotten memories and looking through all of Tobys baby things again.
I'm feeling quite a mix of emotions about the whole move really. Its going to be so hard saying goodbye to our first ever home, we really did make it our own and I really did love it here. At the same time though everything happens for a reason and this move is going to be great for us! I am just so proud of how far we've both come. Its just over a year now since we first moved in and I was so terrified of doing it all on my own. It was exciting gaining my full independence but at the same time I gained full responsibility for another person. Even though he was two at the time it was still an extremely daunting experience actually doing it all alone with out having my mother there to support me and for me to turn to when I needed a little help. I don't think I let myself know often enough just how well I've done and as silly as this will sound to most of you, I really am proud of myself.
So hello exciting new adventure! Here's to hoping next time we do the whole house move malarkey it can be to somewhere we can truly call our own.  Best get saving that deposit!

London

Graffiti art inspiration from my most recent trip to London. Pretty phenomenal stuff! The detail on some pieces is just truly amazing!
It also happened to be Chinese New Year that weekend!
Happy year of the snake!

I've been really focusing on making the flat a little more homely recently as I have stated before. Its actually turning into a bit of an obsession now as I spend any spare money or spare time buying little bits or searching online for the perfect pieces! I received these frames and pictures for my birthday a few weeks ago and absolutely love them. I think I'm going to start a little picture wall in the living room as I hate the big white empty space of the far wall! Hopefully it will look good and not a massive overcrowded mess but we shall have to wait and see!

P.s I also apologise for the lack of decent quality posts on this blog recently. Its all inspiration and instagram photos! But I have been rather busy and promise a decent update very soon!

A snow post.

A tree at Bradgate park, A tree stump at Bradgate park, Toby in the tree stump, Toby standing near the tree stump, Cobweb in the snow, Our block of flats and Toby, The doc martins I only ever wear once a year when it snows, Our snowman, Holly tree.

So a long with everyone else I'm absolutely fed up of the snow, but with a three year old I'm not really left much option but to play in it. Really not a fan of this as I absolutely hate the cold, but its been so nice seeing Toby have so much fun bless him. Also my upstairs neighbours made a rather impressive snow dinosaur but I never managed to get a photo unluckily.
I'm really hoping the snows cleared up or at least calmed down by the weekend as its my birthday and I really don't fancy doing the whole heels and snow thing again. I attempted it last year in Sheffield and it really didn't end to well!

Dream home. Dream hair.

Kate Foley from Opening Opening Ceremonys home.

I stumbled across these a couple of days ago not really knowing much about Kate Foley, or her incredible style, and absolutely fell in love! This is something along the lines of exactly how I'd imagine my dream home to look. I'm also loving the dungarees, I will most definitely be making the purchase of a pair in the very near future!

Table renovation

Ignore my messy flat and the cushions are pink NOT red!

I got this table October time (eBay, £26 bargain!) with the plan of renovating it but never found the time to do so until a few weekends ago. I am extremely pleased with the outcome as its the first time I've ever done anything like this. I even enjoyed it so much I'm planning on earning myself a little bit of extra money by buying cheap second hand furniture, doing it up and selling it on. So watch this space guys!
It took a good two days to complete as we had to sand it all down first so the paint would take and then wait for the coats of paint to dry so we could add seconds and thirds! It isn't even completely finished yet as it hasn't been varnished but we'll ignore that little fact for now. My original plan was to chip bits of paint off once it had dried to give it that shabby chic look I'm such a fan of but in the end I couldn't bring myself to do it! I was far too pleased with my work plus I haven't ever done anything like that before and didn't want to run the risk of ruining it. It adds such a lovely little touch to the flat, it makes it feel so much more homely and so much more like I've put my own little stamp on it. Plus its such a money saver! I've already got my TV table lined up for next time!

This weeks purchases

I have made quite a lot of money over the last few months just simply selling all my old unwanted clothes on eBay.
So the past week I have treated myself a little bit...
Nike air max 1 OG engineered mesh, I have been waiting for the release of these beauties for months now and when I received an email from Urban Industy saying they were in stock I couldn't resist!
Over sized checked shirt, I have been looking for a decent checked shirt for a while now but never seemed to find the right one. This one is literally the most perfect length ever so I can even get away with wearing it as a dress.
Gold heart shaped earrings, I wore my last pair to death so it was about time they got replaced and you can't go wrong at only £2.99 a pair!
Metal antlers, I've been searching for something interesting to hang above my dining table, as I'm not a fan of the big white wall of space, and this seemed perfect!
Chloe perfume, after losing my last bottle on a night out I finally found time to replace it.
Purple leather notebook, I absolutely adore writing lists and I've just ran out of room in my previous list notebook so urgently needed a replacement! Its ridiculous how excited I get over pretty new notebooks . I'm beginning to grow quite a collection!
